Seeking 2 men for roles in rock opera “The Who’s Tommy”

Burien Little Theatre is seeking 2 male actors to fill the following roles in the rock opera “The Who’s Tommy,” written by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff:

Captain Walker – Tommy’s guilty father.  Male, tenor, age 24-32.

Ensemble member – plays a variety of roles including local lads, soldiers, security guards, lab technicians, church choir, etc.

Synopsis: The Who’s electrifying rock opera “Tommy” explores rebellion, finding yourself, and the perils of celebrity. Childhood trauma renders Tommy Walker deaf, mute and blind. He finds solace through his uncanny pinball prowess, becoming a pinball superstar and messianic hero. Featuring such legendary hits as “Pinball Wizard” and “See Me, Feel Me.” The show includes adult content.

Performances are at Burien Little Theatre in Burien from Feb. 17 through March 25, 2012. Rehearsals begin in early January.

Auditions are Wednesday, Dec. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Stage director Steve Cooper and music director Ann Sager.

$100 stipend provided.

Please prepare two short contrasting songs (serious/comedy, ballad/patter), preferably one rock and roll number (hard rock would be optimal) and one number that highlights your vocal range. Bring with you the written music (in your key), as well as your resume and headshot. Callbacks will consist of working with music and possibly libretto from show.
