“Seattle is a desirable place to live because of our robust cultural community,” said Mayor Murray. “The arts make our city vibrant and connect our communities. This investment ensures that our cultural organizations can remain innovative while providing opportunities for residents and visitors to experience a broad array of offerings.” – See more at: http://murray.seattle.gov/mayor-announces-1-7-million-investment-in-seattle-arts-organizations/#sthash.uUTb0HTh.Thy4MniU.dpuf

Although Burien cannot afford the $1.7 million in arts funding, it could invest a little moe in arts funding.  After all with a return on investment of 7 to 1 (in all of King County), it would be money well spent.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see the following?  “Seattle Burien is a desirable place to live because of out robust cultural community,” said Mayor Murry Krakowiak.  “The arts make our city vibrant and connect our communities.  This investment ensures that our cultural organizations can remain innovative while providing opportunities for residents and visitors to experience a broad array of offerings.”
