Did you know Burien as a script club? Well, it has two! Both of Burien Actors Theatre’s script clubs meet monthly. BAT's daytime script club meets at Merrill Gardens, 15020 5th Ave SW, Burien. BAT's evening script club meets at the Burien Library, 400 SW 152nd St, Burien.
The daytime script club meets on the third Thursday of the month from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. The Evening script club meets the first Thursday of the month from 7 to 8 pm in the conference room at the Burien Library.
BAT’s script club is much like a book club, but instead of reading books the members are reading scripts. Often the script will be for the play BAT will be performing, but the script club also reads other very interesting scripts.
This is a joyous way to become theatre literate, but more importantly, to have a good time and get to know your neighbors.
BAT’s very own Faith Beady is leading the daytime script club, and Jim Lapan is leading the evening script club. Copies of this month's scripts are typically available at the main desk at Merrill Gardens.
Burien has a long history steeped in live theater. This is your chance to become part of that history. It’s your chance to give BAT feedback and to be entertained with new friends.
Join BAT’s script club during the day at Merrill Gardens or in the evening at the King County Library in Burien. (You do not have to be a resident of Merrill Gardens or a member of the Library to attend.)
Also, feel free to check out Burien Actors Lending Library (BALL) located at Phoenix Tea Shop at 447 SW 152nd St, Burien. BAT has placed 360 books and scripts in BALL for you to check out!
See you in the script club and then at a show!
